Biography
Dominique is a harpist and singer from northern New Hampshire, USA. She began playing the harp at the age of 12 and spent many summers studying Scottish music and song in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. Her time in Cape Breton inspired a life-long love of dance music, which she approaches with her own unique, rhythmic style.
In 2005, she earned a BA First Class Honours Degree in Scottish Music from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (RSAMD) in Glasgow. She currently divides her time between the UK and the US, pursuing her work as a performer, teacher, and recording artist.
Dominique has over ten years of experience performing at concerts, weddings, and other events. She has a rich and varied repertoire of traditional Scottish and Irish melodies, from lively jigs and reels to haunting laments. She has performed at Denmark's Tønder Festival, Glasgow's Celtic Connections Festival, and the Edinburgh Harp Festival, as well as for HRH the Prince of Wales and at the opening of the Scottish Parliament Building.
Dominique released a self-titled solo album in the spring of 2006, which features artfully-arranged Scottish melodies and traditional songs, as well as her own compositions. Teaching is one of Dominique's strengths and she enjoys working with both children and adults. She has taught for RSAMD's Youth Works program, the NH School of Scottish Arts, and the Ohio Scottish Arts School.
