Biography
Liath is a Midlands based harpist and is available for weddings and other special occasions including parties, corporate events and naming ceremonies. She is an experienced professional musician and her harp music has been a part of many special occasions.
She was born into a musical family, and has played many instruments over the years. She has had a lifelong fascination with the harp, though she came to playing the instrument relatively late. After teaching herself for a short while, she studied with traditional harpist Jean Hudson. She is now an experienced professional harpist with a large client base. She is in demand for weddings and other special occasions and has played at events throughout the United Kingdom.
Although rooted in the traditional music of Britain and Ireland, Liath loves experimenting with other genres including blues, rock and even metal. She also has a large repertoire of classical and pop music which is very popular with clients choosing wedding music.
Liath plays a Pilgrim Progress lever harp, which has a beautiful rich tone but is portable enough to carry up stairs and into spaces which would not accomodate a concert harp. The lever harp is an elegant and practical instrument, close to the type of harp which has graced social occasions for over a thousand years.
