Biography
Xenia is an accomplished harpist and singer based in East Anglia with a wide ranging and unusual repertoire which includes early music, classical, folk and traditional, jazz and contemporary. She has regularly played on radio and session work, and is equally happy to play weddings, functions or concerts.
Trained as a harpist, singer and pianist before embarking on her degree in Theatre. She continued to work in Theatre both as a musician and performer upon graduation and used that experience to inform her own presentation skills. Over twenty years of playing experience has meant that Xenia can access a wide range of repertoire. She also composes and her most recent commission has been the soundtrack for a new radio adaption of Hamlet for Future Radio. which is being broadcast shortly.
She works both as a solo and ensemble artist with a variety of other musicians. recent engagements have included a presentation in the presance of HRH Princess Anne, Songs of Praise BBC1, Norwich Theatre Royal, Eastern Angles Theater Company, Aldeburgh Foundatioin, ARCO and Hintlesham Hall Hotel.
She plays an extended soundboard Concert Grand Venus harp with gilded decoration. I also play with a guitarist with a more jazzy/Irish set Harmonix. I play also with two and three harp groups.
